Dodgers @ Padres April 11, 2013: Greinke vs Marquis, Really?

Aaron Harang‘s not a Dodger any longer, and he’s not a Rockie either — he’s now moving on to Seattle, where he’s been traded for 26-year-old minor league reliever Steven Hensley. The reaction has been both expected — “hey, why couldn’t we get Casper Wells instead of Ramon Hernandez?!”, as though anyone really cares about Tim Federowicz — and less so, because all the people insisting that Harang had value this season have been suspiciously quiet now that all he’s brought back is a failed starter coming off a 6.27 ERA. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

In the meantime, Zack Greinke starts against Jason Marquis, and while that’s such a lopsided mismatch as to be laughable, I did say “Padres 4, Dodgers 2” the other day, because that’s exactly the sort of thing that happens. I’d love to regale you with further tales of baseball, but unfortunately work has been ruining my life this week, as it does. That said, don’t think I haven’t noticed that A.J. Ellis has been moved to sixth, pushing Luis Cruz down a spot. As it always should have been.
