The Season is Near: Two Dodger Games in California Tonight

March 28, 2013 at 4:34 pm | Posted in Rancho Cucamonga Quakes | Leave a comment

That’s a hell of a lineup the Dodgers have for the exhibition in Rancho Cucamonga, isn’t it? Quakes fans get to see Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, and Yasiel Puig… but also Bladimir Franco! Score! Franco, in case you were wondering, has been in the Dodger system for five years and hasn’t made it past rookie ball yet. He’s also not even the only “Bladimir” in pro ball, believe it or not.

The Quakes game, starting at 6pm PT, won’t be televised, which is too bad; it’d be fun to see the park, along with Puig, Corey Seager (hitting third for Rancho), & Chris Reed (starting for the Quakes). Stephen Fife starts for the Dodgers. Tommy Lasorda manages the Dodgers, and Peter Moylan is the only big league pitcher expected to follow Reed in relief.

The real fun is in Anaheim, where Hyun-Jin Ryu gets a real test — facing a lineup that has Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, and Josh Hamilton. That game will be on both Prime Ticket and FSW, as well as being a free broadcast on MLB.tv.

Honestly, it’s nice to see the team back in a big league stadium, even if it’s only the Big A. But this seems like just a tease, doesn’t it? I’m ready for the season to start yesterday.
